About
David Ramirez
I
graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1997 with
an English degree. My first job was as a scriptwriter,
and when they asked me if I knew how to edit audio in
ProTools, I said I was willing to learn. Eleven years
later, there's no software application I can't lick.
I write HTML from memory, and the other web codes hold
no secrets from me.
My
Internet "hobby" jumped to the next level
during my time with Williams Energy, where I designed
the site structure and layout ("This menu bar goes
here, this link goes to this page") for the company
intranet, "Inside Williams." My work won a
Bronze Quill Award and a runner-up Silver Link Award.
The same month, I built my first freelance site. It's
still live, which is a good sign.
I'm
the only employee in RamirezPR, and my wife Melissa
is the only employer. My daughter Sophia is six years
old, and she steals the show with her singing voice
and quick wit. In 2006, my
son Elijah was born with a genetic syndrome affecting
his limbs and skull, among other things. Now I work
from home, taking care of the kids and meeting client
deadlines at a record pace. But I can still get away
for a business meeting (a.k.a. "lunch").
